It’s not like no one uses Word and no one uses PDF. Thanks so much, I was having the same problem and this solution worked for me. I did prefer to print straight into a folder rather than create in Acrobat and then save, but at least it isn’t crashing now when I print.

I do not get error messages when word stops responding, I only get as far as the Save As Word and the rest of office works flawlessly on everything else. In reply to Kwon Pan’s post on March 27, To start in Safe Mode, hold down the Ctrl key while starting Word. I’ll add to the list the deskpdf add-on, which I will have to try to reinstall or disable, but for now Word freezes when trying to print to the deskpdf virtual printer, at least on my computer.

Problem does not occur in any other program or Office Suite. In reply to jfreeman3’s post on May 21, I have had a similar problem. Start Word and go to print and most times I get word not responding. Sometimes if I go to a Google Chrome window it starts printing. I don’t have the addins that you have discussed. I finally went through the options etc. I then disabled each of the options. It seems to be working now. When will Microsoft and Adobe start working together to solve this problem?
When can we customers expect a solution to this problem? In reply to StephenEisemann’s post on January 6, Outlook does not then pass control to the Adobe PDF save dialog or allow you to select it, so you cannot click save and Outlook hangs waiting for the print.
If you change the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences to not prompt for a filename name, it prints to your documents folder with no problem because no dialog is presented. I had no problems with previous versions of Office, the defect arrived with the version. This site in other languages x.
