You can choose which fonts are listed in your apps, and how you want fonts to be installed on your PC. For more info about fonts, see Fonts: Frequently asked questions. If some fonts don’t work with your input language settings, Windows can hide those fonts in your apps. You can either set Windows to show and hide fonts automatically, or you can choose to see all of the fonts installed on your PC in your apps whether they work with your language settings or not.

Tap or click to open Fonts. Make sure that the Hide fonts based on language settings check box is selected. If it’s not, select it, and then tap or click OK. To see all of the fonts installed on your PC in your apps, clear the Hide fonts based on language settings check box, and then tap or click OK. You can remove any changes that you’ve made to your settings, including changes made using the Show and Hide buttons.

There is also a known issue with Win 10 and Office. Actually, rereading this tip I suspect that is not your problem. It could be the font type, Word no longer supports Type 1 PostScript fonts with. If the font you installed is a different type, please post the font name and where you obtained it, and I’ll check it out, if possible.
